Its open weave is built for beach days, keeping sand from piling up in the bottom of the bag. Handmade by local women artisans in Madagascar from raffia, a 100% natural and biodegradable fiber.

This raffia bag is dyed using vegetable dyes. The Caramel color is created with a mixture of turmeric and yellow onion. Subtle variations in color and weave are to be expected - and celebrated - as part of each piece's natural beauty. These differences reflect the hands that made them and the spirit of traditional craft.
